Evaluation of X-Ray Shielding Ability of Tungsten Rubber: A GAMOS Monte Carlo Study

Against the detrimental effects of ionizing radiation, time, distance, and shielding are three most significant protective methods. Lead is material choice for shielding, particularly personal equipment. However, lead's density, rigidity, toxicity disadvantages. In recent years, tungsten-containing rubber (TCR) other lightweight, flexible, non-toxic materials have emerged as viable alternatives to lead. The purpose this study examine X-ray absorption capacity TCR material, which can serve an alternative lead-based Using GAMOS simulation, radiation characteristics 11 different energies ranging from 30 1000 keV were obtained compared with Phy-X/PSD data. While MFP value produced code 100 energy X rays was 0.0204 cm, 0.0296 cm. HVL X-rays 0.021 cm 0.014 GAMOS. It has been observed provide excellent protection against in diagnostic imaging field. By providing greater flexibility than lead materials, play a crucial role decreasing exposure.
